Post news?

Hey guys, Tj156 here, sorry about not updating but i had the pages ready, and stupidly forgot to upload them for a week...lol...anyways, huge news MK : Deadly Alliance wise...as Game Informer magazine is supposed to have an EXCLUSIVE section in there upcoming issue, to be released later this week Supposedly the article will adress the "multiple move-set" fighting system we've heard of, but somehow just can't get a grasp on. The Magazine should be released this week sometime, so pick it up, it'll have none other that that spawn himself Scorpion on the cover:

Also on the Rpg front, I've updated that section with Designer Diaries, Storyline, and Screen Shots of the game in action! So check it out, just click here...or the Sub-Zero's Fantasy link on your left!

Post news?

WOW....I'm SPEECHLESS...after months and months of nothing all of a sudden were barraded with previews of the next mortal kombat game...this is my heaven...lol

Okay, lets recap.

Friday Morning: 8:30AM-i hurredly checked my e-mail because i KNEW there would be something relating to MK:DA in it, and sure enough there was:) The mailing list e-mail stated...

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
February, 2002

GET OVER HERE!!!!

The official Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance site is coming very soon!

Anytime now the official MK:DA website will go live and you heard it here first.

In the coming weeks look for more and more content to be added to the site, including: artist sketches, arenas, interviews and actual gameplay footage.

IT'S OFFICIAL!

Deadly Alliance confirmed for all Next-Gen consoles!!

"It doesn't get any sweeter!"

"The %$#&*^% house is gonna come down!!!"

Mortally yours,
Midway Crew

Friday Morning:11:30AM-As just a guess i checked out MK5.org to see if they had any more info since they seem to get more exclusive info than any other mk site...and boy was i right...lol THE VIDEO

For 2 Versions of the MK:DA trailer teaser in .ASF:

all i can say after watching that video is........*starts crying*...i've never seen anything more beautiful...:)

Friday Afternoon: 3PM- I went back to gamespot and noticed a web addresss that matched the one in the preview video at the end, so i tried it out, and let it be known that the OFFICIAL MORTAL KOMBAT: DEADLY ALLIANCE WEBSITE IS UP!!!! ...and its a beauty...:) Http://www.mortalkombat.midway.com ....remember that...lol Besides the facts being retold on the offical site this time, there were also many things new to be learned on the site...Including:

Completely redesigned multiple-move-set fighting system. Each character will have several "move-sets" that players can selectively change during a match.

Extremely realistic fighting effects. Ripped clothing, bruises, sweat dripping, blood dripping and running down bodies

New and old favorite characters. Scorpion, Subzero, Raiden, Jax, Sonya, Reptile, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi and more. Plus new characters to be announced.

Special Attacks. Each character will have several special attacks to utilize during battles.

Full 3-D Movement!

WOW...lol....this leaves A LOT to the imagination....Move sets?...in the middle of a round?...what the hell are those?...lol Also there are a lot of downloadable goodies on the site as well, consisting of pretty spiffy wallpapers, banners (as you can see one at the left), and also screensaver, but you should also know that the WHOLE site is in flash, so make sure you have the latest flash player and be patient..:) Okay...thats a lot of news for one update...it'd be wrong for me to comment on how the rpg is doing, but its coming along quite nicely, i'll post a couple of screenshots in the next few days when i get time...i guess the only thing we can do now is drool over that video and just wait........very very anxiously....:)

Post news?

Mark this day in the History Books, It's.........NEW LOGO TIME!!!!!!

Thats right Biatch, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance now has a FACE.

Midway released this shot yesterday and no later than 5 minutes GameSpot released also these details:

"GameSpot has additional information on Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Midway plans to include eight characters who have appeared in previous Mortal Kombat games. They are Scorpion, Subzero, Raiden, Jax, Sonya, Reptile, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi. It has also been revealed that the game's story will revolve around Quan Chi and Shang Tsung's quest to gain immortality.
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is scheduled for release on the Xbox, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance this fall. "

Many questions surround this report, it is OFFICIAL, from MIDWAY, this is no fan design. However, there still leaves the question.....what about ps2? Many people have diagnosed that since we have had no Official announcement that MK:DA would be released on ps2 since April of '01, that quite possibly it WONT be released on ps2. Most likely reason if its not released on ps2? The ps2 is the hardest out of x-box, gamecube, and ps2 to program for, meaning that A)Midway WONT release MK:DA on ps2, or B) They WILL release it, but a month to 2 months after the x-box and gamecube versions.

However lets put this into perspective for a sec. Midway NOT releasing the new mk on ps2 would DRASTICALLY reduce their profits for the game, Namely because around 50 percent of next gen owners own a PS2, the software and hardware on the ps2 are just as powerful as the xbox and gamecube, just a few months older. Plus there are certain advantages to porting to ps2. Mainly, the dvd player already INSTALLED. Think about it, the gamecube has NO dvd functions at all unless you go buy the panasonic version thats out in japan right now. Xbox is made by microsoft.....we ALL no how BAD microsoft is at software...i mean COUNTLESS bug fixes, rollovers, updates, and the like for all software they've put out....you cant do that for a console. Consoles have to be PERFECT out of the box, and microsoft cant do that, as demonstrated on numerous complaints of xbox's being defective.

Now, some other advantages to porting on ps2 would be...fan base. Fans of the psx bought a ps2 just because it was the next playstation....simple as that. Games. Besides the countless number of psx games that are backwards compatible with the ps2, there are already a ton of ps2 games out there. Consistency. When the psx first came out, it was new, exciting, and way cool. But what happens after the new shine wears off? Sony goes and ups the stakes by releasing some of the best video games EVER. Final Fantasy series, only on sony, crash bandicoot, only on sony, TEKKEN, only on sony. And the more time the psx was around, the better the games got leading up to games such as WWF Smackdown! 1 and 2, and the much beloved Chrono Cross...a game Sony Stole right out from nintendo's nose. And most importantly when the psx became stale...what happened? Sony released The Playstation2 and the cycle started all over again.

BOTTOM LINE IS:

IF MIDWAY DOESN'T RELEASE THE GAME ON PS2, MIDWAY WILL DIE. THEY WILL PUT OUT OTHER GAMES, BUT THEY'LL NEVER GAIN THE LOYAL FANS BACK THAT THEY LOST.

NOW...

The returning NOW CONFIRMED characters also lead us to another round of questions, namely...where's Liu Kang?...lol...an mk game just doesnt feel like an mk without liu kang's cheap tactics and combo's...lol Also, will there be a sub-boss character? Who exactly will be the new boss? What new gameplay modes will the game introduce? What will the new battle system feel and look like? This is a time of reflection, for the mk series has FINALLY moved into the new millenium, and i for one, welcome it with open arms...:)

Post news?

Well, if you've been here in the last 2 weeks then you might notice that on EVERY page i've changed MK5 to MK:DA, due to the fact that Midway last week confirmed the next Mortal Kombat game to be called Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Also i've fixed a few broken links, did some stuff like that. Finally remembered to upload the fonts you guys need to see this site correctly In IE, you can get them from the Multimedia section.

I've also updated the rpg page with the skinny on the new version of Sub-Zero's Fantasy currently under the knife. You might wanna browse through it, as a couple big things have changed, plus a ton of little things.

Not much news to report as far as MK:DA is concerned. As always remember to check out MK5.org and PlanetMK, as they are the most likely source for new info.

Post news?

CHICAGO – January 28, 2002 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer announced today that the official title for the all-new, next-generation version of the popular fighting game franchise will be Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is currently in development and scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and other next-generation gaming systems.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance marks the relaunch of the Mortal Kombat series with an all-new engine delivering punishing action that will reward long-time fans of the franchise as well as next-generation game lovers. The game features intense hand-to-hand and special-weapon combat, secret hidden moves and combinations with deadly body blows and fatalities.

“Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is the next phase of the Mortal Kombat series that gamers have been waiting for,” said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway. “With all-new characters and worlds, never-before-seen features and a totally new fighting engine, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance will set a precedent for all other next-generation fighting games to follow."

SITE NEWS:

Well...wasn't that bit of news just jim dandy?..lol...MK5...or as we now know it as...Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance now...seem's to be on its way whether or not the gaming world is ready for it. However, given this new news, new questions have arised...namely why is it that the press release failed to mention that MK:DA will be released on PS2?

Just technically speaking...Midway in turn would lose a SHIT LOAD of cash if they didn't release MK:DA on PS2, mainly because for a few months before gamecube and xbox, PS2 was the only next-gen system out besides the dying dreamcast, meaning that everyone bought a PS2, so if midway DOESNT release MK:DA on PS2, half of mk's current fan's would be forced to buy a new system to play the game...meaning less sales all together for midway.

And has anyone convienently NOT noticed something VERY IMPORTANT about the damn title. Mortal Kombat Deadly ALLIANCE...thats Plural people. Meaning there has to be a team up somewhere between boss and sub boss...and since the money is on quan chi being a sub boss/boss character, that means he'll probably end up teaming up with some sinister other, But will it be a familiar face? Or someone totally new into the mk story?...I guess only time will tell.

I'm hard at work on the rpg right now, if you dont know by now i've scrapped the version i was working on before the layout change in favor of a new coding system of mine, which gives better freedom for me, as well as a better game for you. So keep your eyes out for a few screenshots and maybe a video preview in the next month.

thats about it right now for updates here...so keep checking back every week or so.

12/17/01: Midway Registers the domains Http://www.mortalkombatdeadlyalliance.com and Http://www.mkdeadlyalliance.com

1/16/01: MK5.org contacts midway regarding the new found info, Midway replies that they will be shortly announcing something.
